Language, culture, and community—together in one joyful classroom
Tagalog Immersion & Intergenerational Preschool
At Cherubs Seattle, we incorporate Tagalog immersion and intergenerational learning into our preschool experience—bringing language, culture, and community together. Children hear and practice Tagalog through songs, stories, routines, and play while exploring Filipino traditions, music, and dance in a nurturing environment that celebrates identity and belonging.
We embrace connection across generations by welcoming lolos and lolas (grandparents from our senior program) and ates and kuyas (Filipino youth volunteers) into our classroom community. Together, they share wisdom, laughter, and cultural pride—creating a learning experience that truly feels like family.
Every Friday is Filipino Food Friday, celebrated across all three Cherubs locations—Seattle, Kent, and Auburn—bringing everyone together through the flavors and warmth of Filipino cuisine.
This program is offered in partnership with the Filipino Community of Seattle, where heritage, learning, and generations come together to create a true community of care.
What Tagalog Immersion Looks Like at Cherubs
Immersion means children learn Tagalog naturally—by hearing and using it throughout the day in meaningful ways. Our teachers support language growth through:
Everyday routines and classroom phrases (greetings, transitions, feelings, requests)
Songs, stories, and movement that make language memorable
Play-based learning that builds confidence and connection
Children are never pressured. We meet each child where they are and celebrate steady progress.
